Track and Field Start 2025-26 Campaign Split Between Chadron and Wyoming

RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Track & Field returns this weekend as the Hardrockers will split at the Birds and the Bees Alumni Open and the Wyoming Power Meet.

South Dakota Mines finished the 2024-25 indoor seasons with 10th place for the men and 12th for the women. In the RMAC Preseason Poll, the Hardrockers were picked 10th on the men's side and 12th on the women's side.

At the Wyoming Power Meet on Saturday, field events are scheduled to start at 11 a.m., followed by the track events at 1:30 p.m. The Birds and the Bees Alumni Open is at Chadron State on both Friday and Saturday.

Both the men's and women's teams return players who made improvements last season. Michael Thompson, Cooper Stevens and Augustus Fink all highlighted for the Hardrockers at the RMAC Indoor Championship last season. Adisyn Schenck, Emily Novak and Emily all put their names in the record book last season.

What's Next

The Hardrockers are back in action when the calendar flips into 2026. They will go to the Dave Little Alumni Mile Open on Jan. 17 at Black Hills State.
