Hardrockers Conclude RMAC Regional Pod with Chadron State

RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Women's Volleyball will conclude the RMAC Regional Pod against Chadron State on Friday at 6 p.m. in the King Center.

Series History

The Hardrockers are 23-26 all time with Chadron State dating back to 1995. In three total matchups last season, South Dakota Mines went 2-1. Two of the games went to five sets, while one was a four-set match. The Hardrockers are 11-10 against Chadron State in the King Center.

About the Eagles

Chadron State is 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the RMAC this season. Last weekend, the Eagles went 1-1 in a pair of three-set matches. They fell to Fort Lewis at home 0-3 but rebounded the next night with a 3-0 victory over Western Colorado. In the opening RMAC weekend, Chadron State fell to Colorado Christian 2-3 and to CSU Pueblo 0-3.

Mataya Ward is first on the team with her 3.40 kills per set this season. Setter Jillian Donovan is third in the RMAC with 9.20 assists per set. Avery Lacy leads the defense with 158 digs and 3.95 digs per set. After finishing the 2024 season 6-20, the Eagles were picked to finish 13th in the RMAC this season.

About the Hardrockers

Through 13 games so far, South Dakota Mines is 3-10 overall and 2-2 in the RMAC. After losing two straight games to CSU Pueblo and Colorado Christian, the Hardrockers rebounded with a 3-1 win over Black Hills State on Tuesday. Morgan Daugherty tallied 17 kills in that game to lead the team. Lexi Glendenning was right behind her with 16 kills.

Daugherty leads the Hardrockers with 3.34 kills per set, while Glendenning is averaging 3.31 kills per set. Hannah Benes is second in the RMAC this season with 4.44 digs per set in 50 sets played. In the Hardrockers last game against the Eagles on Nov. 9, 2024, Ivy Vindivich recorded 19 kills and a .317 hitting percentage, while Benes tallied 26 digs.

What's Next

This game will conclude a four-game homestand for South Dakota Mines. They will go on the road to face (RV) UCCS and #8 MSU Denver next weekend. They come back home to face New Mexico Highlands on Oct. 17.
