LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The South Dakota Mines women's golf team began play in their second tournament of the year.
In a round with some weather delays, the Hardrockers were able to finish and finish well. Through the first round, the women's golfers are in striking distance of the leaders, sitting in fourth after shooting a 316.
The 316 sits just one stroke back of the two teams ahead of them and seven strokes back of Colorado Mesa in first.
Kenzie Schroeder and
Addiley Lloyd led the squad, shooting 77, while
Rianna Garland hit a 79 on day 1.
Annika Schooler didn't have her best day, hitting an 83, while
Mya Maxwell had an 88.
Playing as individuals,
Kyra Allen and
Allison Kahler finished with 86 and 98.
On Friday, South Dakota Mines will tee of starting at 11:31 for the individuals with the last pairing at 12:25.
