LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The women's golf team teed off its season today with the first round of the SMSU Spring Invitational in Arizona, hosted by Southwest Minnesota State University.
With 12 teams in competition, the Hardrockers had a strong first round and are within striking distance of some teams in front of them after shooting a 320.
Rianna Garland and
Annika Schooler are both sitting in the top 20 after shooting 74 and 78 on day 1 to lead the team, while
Kenzie Schroeder,
Allison Kahler and
Mya Maxwell round out the team performers, shooting 82, 86 and 92.
Playing as individuals are
Kyra Allen and
Addiley Lloyd and both had good first rounds as they shot 79 and 82 to sit in a tie for 23rd and 30th.
On Tuesday, they are scheduled for tee off beginning with the two individuals at 12:51 followed by the team from 1:00 to 1:36.
