RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Mines men's and women's indoor track and field teams concluded the two-day SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, S.D. Saturday with a pair of school records and several athletes moving into the school's Top 10.
On Friday, sophomore
Clare Fischer finished in 16
th place but broke the school mark in the women's 5,000-meter run in 17 minutes, 56.36 seconds. The old mark was previously set in 2017 by Kari Radke in 18:50.10.
On Saturday, freshman
Cole Tatro ran his way to the top of the South Dakota Mines record book in the mile run, as he finished 27
th out of 120 runners in 4:18.27. The previous top time was 4:19.99 by Ryan Moen in 2020.
Sophomore
Thomas Greisen's time of 1:55.56 in the 800 is good enough to put him second all-time for the Hardrockers. Junior
Owen Hansmann moved to third all-time in the mile run in 4:30.24.

Eddie Johnson and Greisen placed ninth in 3:22.86, which is good for third all-time for the 'Rockers.
The South Dakota Mines men had four runners move into the Top 10 in the 3,000-meter run as freshman
Ryan O'Loughlin is now in fourth place in 8:50.78, freshman
Tristan Enders fifth in 8:51.58, Hansmann ninth in 8:57.33 and Tatro 10
th in 8:57.70.
Freshman
Sawyer Nelson is now seventh all-time in the high jump as he placed ninth at 1.98 meters (6-feet, 6 inches). Sophomore
Joran Lamoreaux is now seventh in the 5,000-meter run in 15:32.09, freshman
Tanner Reinert is eighth all-time in the 1,000-meter run in 2:45.04 and Thomas is now 10
th in the 400-meter run in 51.13.
Junior
Allyson Heiden moved into second all-time in the women's 5,000 in 18:33.30 and sophomore
Alana Howard is in fourth in the same event in 19:08.96. Senior
Abbie Saline is now second all-time in the mile in 5:20.79 and senior
Adeline Wilson finished in 2:24.82 in the women's 800, good for fourth all-time at South Dakota Mines.
Also earning Top 10 finishes in the meet was graduate student
Jaycie Stubbs in the women's shot put at 13.28 meters (43-7) and Nelson, 10
th in the triple jump at 13.53 meters (44-4 ¾).
UP NEXT
The Hardrocker men and women return to action Feb. 17 at Black Hills State University before competing in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Indoor Championships Feb. 23-24, also in Spearfish.
