Alessandra Meoni Earns AVCA All-American Honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association, a prestigious organization in the volleyball community, selected its Division II All-American Teams on Wednesday afternoon.

Following an excellent season, Alessandra Meoni earned AVCA All-American Honorable Mention for the second consecutive year. This selection process is highly competitive and being chosen in back-to-back seasons is a significant achievement for Meoni.

Meoni, a senior right side/opposite, originally hails from Padova, Italy, before moving to Friendswood High School in Texas and coming to the Hardrockers via Western Nebraska Community College.

Since the season ended, Meoni has been rewriting the record books. She earned significant milestones, including RMAC All-Conference First Team, D2CCA All-South Central Region Second Team, and became the first in program history to earn AVCA All-South Central Region Second Team.

Leading the conference in kills per set (4.06), total kills (414), points per set (4.64), and total points (473), Meoni was phenomenal all season long and led the Hardrockers to their first-ever regional ranking when they were ranked eighth in the South Central Region.

Meoni also posted eight double-doubles this season.
