Hannah Benes Named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – On Monday afternoon, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selected its RMAC Volleyball players of the week.

For the second time this season, a Hardrocker was honored with the award when Hannah Benes was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Seemingly long overdue, Benes has been a standout at South Dakota Mines for three years, earning an all-conference selection in 2023 but it is the first time she's received an RMAC weekly honor.

This past weekend, she was phenomenal in helping South Dakota Mines to a 2-1 record, posting 17 digs in two matches and a third with 27 digs.

Benes averaged 5.54 digs per set this past weekend, improving her season average to 4.79 per set, third-best in the RMAC.

In addition, she leads the RMAC in aces, averaging .56 per set which is 24th in NCAA Division II.
