RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Mines men's and women's indoor track and field teams return to action Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Mike Thorson Open in Bismarck, N.D.
The meet will be at the University of Mary Fieldhouse and Wellness Center and begins at 10 a.m. MT for field events and 11 a.m. for running events. The meet is expected to attract nine teams from across North Dakota, Montana and South Dakota.
The Hardrocker teams are coming off a good performance last Saturday at the Myrle Hanson Open at Black Hills State. Earning first-place finishes for South Dakota Mines was freshman
Zachary Vanicek in the men's pole vault (4.18 meters) and the distance medley team of freshmen Tristian Enders, Ty Brady,
Cole Dobberstein and
Cole Tatro in 10 minutes, 56.40 seconds.
Also for the Hardrocker men, freshman
Sawyer Nelson set a school record in the triple jump, as he finished second at 1.90 meters.
