Box Score DENVER, Colo. --- The South Dakota Mines volleyball team closed out the opening weekend of the RMAC schedule, taking on Regis in Denver.
The Hardrockers battled through three sets but ultimately fell to the #16 team in the country in three sets (25-18; 25-14; 25-18).
HOW IT HAPPENED
After an early battle in set 1, with the match tied at 11, Regis was able to go on a run, taking a 19-12 lead, before eventually taking the set 25-18.
The second set also began as a battle with the Hardrockers scoring three consecutive points, tying it up at 9, but once again Regis would go on a run, getting back-to-back points to push the lead to 22-12, before eventually taking the set 25-14.
The third set started with Regis taking a 9-3 lead and expanding that to 19-10. Trailing 19-10, the Hardrockers would continue to fight, gathering some momentum and cutting the lead to 22-16 after a
Kiera Walsh block, but were unable to keep the rally going, falling 25-18 and 3-0.

The Hardrockers are at home for the first time next weekend as Adams State and CSU Pueblo come to the King Center on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 22nd and 23rd at 7:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
