Track & Field Finishes Conference Championships with 1 Title, 7 All-Conference performances

CHADRON, Neb. --- The South Dakota Mines track and field teams finished the RMAC Championships on Sunday.
 
Day 3:
 
The men's decathlon was the first event to finish up and two Hardrockers finished with podium and first team all-conference finishes as Aidan Thompson and Travis Kleinsasser finished second and third. Thompson's performance was a PR and the #2 mark in school history as he recorded 6,325 points. Kleinsasser finished in third with 6,320 points. Thompson scored eight team points, while Kleinsasser grabbed six. Eddie Johnson recorded a PR in the 200m dash, running it with a time of 22.31. Kleinsasser also finished in sixth (second team All-Conference) in the pole vault, jumping 4.38 meters. Through two days, the men sit in sixth place with 20 points.
 
Kamryn Scully continued her successful season, grabbing an all-conference nod in the javelin, jumping 3.56 meters to finish sixth. Jaycie Stubbs would continue her success at the meet after winning her third consecutive javelin throw on day 2, she finished in fifth in the shot put throwing 13.07 meters. As a team, the women finished in 12th with 21 points.
