RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines golf teams opened up play today at Arrowhead Golf Club.

The men's A team is currently in second place while the B team is tied for third.

Joseph Vincent is sitting in first overall by five strokes after shooting a -4, 67 in the first round.
Supawich Boonta representing the B team shot a +1, 72 and is sitting t-2nd.
Braydon Jones and
Ramey Lloyd are also sitting in the top-10, each shooting 76.
Everette Carroll and
Roger Nakagawa finished on their tails, shooting 77.
Jake Francis and
Carson McDaniel finished round 1 in the top-20, shooting 79 and 80.
Caeden Ekroth wrapped up team b, shooting an 86.

For the women, the A team is holding a significant lead after round 1, shooting a 341 and leading by 28 strokes. Individually, all five members of the A team hold spots in the top-8 with
Annika Schooler leading the tournament, shooting a +9, 80.
Rianna Garland currently sits in 3rd after shooting a +11.
Lora Ortega,
Jessalyn Shipp, and
Mya Maxwell round out the team in 5th, 6th and t-7th after shooting +18, +19, and +21.

The B team was led by
Portia Lenczowski (t-9) shooting a +23.
Summer Christiansen and
Taylor Ullen also sit in the top-15 after shooting +25 and +26.
Julia Sabetti is t-16th after shooting +27.
Megan Alexander finished out the team in 20th, shooting +30.

The Hardrockers will finish up tomorrow, with all the golfers teeing off on different holes beginning at 10:00 a.m.
