ALAMOSA, Colo. --- The South Dakota Mines track and field teams finished up the conference championships today in Colorado and had several milestones.
The men finished in seventh as a team with 33 points.
Jade Cass got the day started off in style for the men, taking home the conference championship and tying the school record in the high jump, clearing the bar at 2.07m. Cass wasn't done with his day, as he set a new school record in the heptathlon, scoring 4939 points to finish second overall in the event. As a result of his performances, he was named male co-athlete of the meet.Â

On the women's side, the Hardrockers scored 11 points to finish in 12th. In the women's shot put
Jaycie Stubbs broke her own school record, throwing 13.55 meters to finish fifth in the event.
