ALAMOSA, Colo. --- The South Dakota Mines track and field teams had double-digit competitors on day 1 of the RMAC Championships Friday night and had some strong performances going into the finals on Saturday.
The men's distance medley relay of
Owen Hansmann,
Ethan Pitlick,
Thomas Greisen, and
Zach Hentschel finished in 6
th with a time of 10:42.55.

Men's individuals also had several good results in the Heptathlon with
Jade Cass taking 3rd in the long jump.
Aidan Thompson took first in the shot put portion of the hep with Cass following in second. Cass also took first in the high jump portion, jumping 2.07m. Thompson followed in third. The heptathlon will continue on day 2, but Cass and Thompson enter in a good spot as they sit in second and third overall.

In the men's pole vault,
Eli Barbot finished in sixth, jumping 4.35m. On the women's side of the pole vault,
Kamryn Scully continued her great indoor season, jumping 3.53m for a top-five finish.

On Saturday the teams will get underway, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
