ORLANDO, Fla. --- This afternoon, College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District team for men's basketball was announced.
The 2022‐23 Academic All‐District® Men's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Keagen Smith was selected for this accolade.
To be eligible for the all-district team, student-athletes must have completed at least the past 12 months at their current institution, must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50, and must be a starter or a key reserve. Schools are allowed a maximum of four players on the Academic All-District team.
Keagen Smith is a sophomore industrial engineering major. He has been a big factor on the court in each of his three seasons. Over the last two years, he has started every game he participated in, giving him 52 starts. This season, he is one of the top-minutes getters in the conference averaging 31.6 per game. Smith averages 7.3 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game on the season.
