Four Women's Basketball Players Named Academic All-District

ORLANDO, Fla. --- This afternoon, College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District team for women's basketball was announced.
 
The 2022‐23 Academic All‐District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
The Hardrockers were well represented with four student-athletes being named to the list. Bailey Johnson, Kaydin Davis, Madelyn Heiser, and Lily Peterson were the student-athletes selected to the team.
 
To be eligible for the all-district team, student-athletes must have completed at least the past 12 months at their current institution, must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50, and must be a starter or a key reserve. Schools are allowed a maximum of four players on the Academic All-District team.
 
Davis is a junior, majoring in pre-professional health. She has participated in 19 games this season, averaging over 8 minutes per game.
 
Madelyn Heiser is a pre-professional health major and a junior. Heiser missed a pair of games this season but has started each game she has played in, averaging 10 points per game on 37.3% three-point shooting in 31 minutes per game.
 
Johnson, an industrial engineering major from Rapid City will graduate this may as a two-year starter. She has been a key player for this year's team, starting 25 games and playing in 26. In the most recent game on senior night she scored 22 points on 4-8 shooting.
 
Peterson, a sophomore is also a pre-professional health major, and she has played in 19 games, starting four.
