LARAMIE, Wyo. – The South Dakota Mines men's and women's indoor track and field team took on the University of Wyoming in dual-meet competition Friday in the Wyoming Power Meet at the Hager-Lebar Indoor Track& Field Venue at War Memorial Fieldhouse.
Facing Division I competition for the second straight week, the Hardrockers had some good performances and finished with several personal bests on the day.
For the Hardrocker men, senior Teagen Wells finished second in the 55-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 7.86 seconds, setting a school record. In the same event, freshman
Merek Ranstrom also had a personal best at 8.25.
Other personal bests for the 'Rocker men include freshman
Cole Dobberstein in the 400 (52.72), sophomore
Eddie Johnson in the 55 (6.59), junior
Isaiah Thurman in the weight throw (14.38 meters), senior
Ian Cone in the weight throw (14.21) and junior
Eli Huot in the weight throw (14.20).
For the Hardrocker women, earning personal bests were junior
Abbie Van Ruler in the shot put (10.96), junior
Abby Krumpus in the 55 hurdles (9.84), junior
Amanda Cooley in the shot put (12.40) and junior
Melissa May in the 55 (8.0) and the 200 (29.30).
