Track & Field Heads to Laramie for Dual Meet Against Wyoming

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines indoor track and field teams will face off with Division I competition for the second straight week as they compete Friday against the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo.
 
This is the second straight season the Hardrockers have faced off with the Cowboys and Cowgirls in Laramie. The meet will be held at the Hager-Lebar Indoor Track& Field Venue at War Memorial Fieldhouse. 
 
Last weekend a small contingent of Hardrocker men and women competed in the SDSU Holiday Open & Multi Friday at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. 
 
In that meet, junior Aidan Thompson and senior Jaycie Stubbs both came away with top eight finishes. Thompson finished in third place in the heptathlon with 4,220 points, while Stubbs was eighth in the women's shot put with a personal best heave of 12.91 meters. Senior Ian Cone also set a personal best in the men's shot put at 13.63 meters and junior Abbie Van Ruler and sophomore Adisyn Schenck set indoor personal bests in the weight throw at 14.19 and 13.02 meters respectively.
