KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- On Thursday afternoon D2Football.com announced its annual postseason Elite 100 team.
Following a dominant season, where he was among the national leaders in several categories, Ben Noland continued to add to his list of honors. This time, he was selected to the D2Football Elite 100 list.
The D2Football.com Elite 100 selects players for a first team, a second team and a squad – similar to an honorable mention team.
Noland followed up his Division II AP All-America Second Team, All-Super Region Four First Team and RMAC All-Conference First team selections with a selection to the Elite 100 squad.
Noland was one of the best wide receivers nationally at the Division II level. The junior wide receiver from Georgia transferred in from Northern State, playing his first year as a Hardrocker, and proceeded to have one of the best seasons in school history. Noland finished with 92 receptions, second most in school history, broke the single-game reception record with 16 against Colorado School of Mines, and set the new single-season school record for receiving touchdowns with 16. He was 28th in NCAA Division II in all-purpose yards and fifth in receiving yards (1,184). The 92 receptions and 16 touchdowns ranked second and third in NCAA Division II.
