BROOKINGS, S.D. – The South Dakota Mines indoor track and field teams sent a small contingent to the SDSU Holiday Open & Multi Friday in the season opener at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
The Hardrockers had one top-eight placer and four personal bests, all in the weight throws.
Jaycie Stubbs led the way with an eighth-place finish in the women's shot put with a best heave of 12.91 meters (42-feet, 4 ¼ inches), which is a personal best. Her finish enabled the Hardrockers to score one team point.
Taegen Wells didn't quite score any team points, but he finished 10th in the men's 60-meter hurdles in 8.61 seconds.
Ian Cone set a personal best in the men's shot put at 13.63 meters and
Abbie Van Ruler and
Adisyn Schenck set indoor personal bests in the weight throw at 14.19 and 13.02 respectively.
