RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines soccer team was in action for an early senior day as they took on Adams State on Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
The Hardrockers played a conservative first half, but it was relatively even with South Dakota Mines attempting eight shots, and Adams State attempting 7, but in the second half, the Hardrockers came out as the aggressor.
South Dakota Mines scored first on a corner kick by
Garrett Cole that never found a teammate but curved its way into the net to give the Hardrockers a 1-0 lead. Just a couple of minutes later, the Hardrockers scored again, this time it was
Mateo Clagg with a deep shot, just outside of the 18-yard box beating the keeper in the low left corner.
Hayden Jaramillo fed Clagg on this, recording his second assist of the season and ninth of his career to tie the school record. The Hardrockers weren't done there, adding on more on a
Bergen Loveless tap-in after a beautiful feed from
Rayane Mesmoudi. Adams State would add one late, but the Hardrockers dominated the second half and picked up the 3-1 win on senior day.
In the second half, the Hardrockers outshot the Grizzlies 12-5, and for the game had 11 shots on goal to Adams State's 4.

The Hardrockers are on the road next week for matchups at MSU Denver and Colorado School of Mines on Friday, Oct. 13 and Sunday, Oct. 15.
