COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. --- On Thursday afternoon, the RMAC selected and announced its' player of the week selection for women's golf.
Rianna Garland was selected and won the RMAC Women's Golf of the Week award.
Â
Since not enough teams (50%) competed from the week of 9/19-9/25 and the Hardrocker women did not compete again this week, Rianna's performance from the Hardrocker Fall Invite on 9/19-9/20 was countable for this week's award. She was one of eight golfers nominated and earned the award after picking up the individual title for the Hardrockers.
She shot a two-round 158, holding the lead throughout the tournament, including after round 1 and being able to close the tournament in the same place she ended it after round one. She led the tournament in par-4 scoring with an average of 4.40 and had 15 pars, five birdies and one eagle.
This is the first women's RMAC Golfer of the Week award for South Dakota Mines and second-ever following Bryce Howard's selection in 2021-22. Garland now holds the female record at South Dakota Mines with two individual titles. Â
