MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- The South Dakota Mines Cross Country teams participated in the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday afternoon, where 40 other teams among each gender also competed.

The Men post an 11th place finish, just 20 points behind a top-10 finish. The Hardrockers finished ahead of other Division II competitors such as Winona State, Concordia-St. Paul, MSU Moorhead and Northern State among others.

The Hardrockers were led by
Tyler Captain (26:38.2) and
Brett Flerchinger (26:43.3) who both posted top-60 individual finishes at 55 and 60.
Zach Hentschel (74, 26:59.4) and Freshman Joran Lamoureaux (93, 27:15.8) also posted top-100 finishes.

The women also had a good performance, with a 16th place finish, finishing ahead of Division II counterparts Minot State, MSU Moorhead and Minnesota Crookston among others. Freshman
Clare Fischer brough home a finish in 58th after posting a time of 24:13.0.
Abbie Saline joined her in the top-100, finishing in 80th with a time of 24:35.9.

Looking Ahead
The Hardrockers have next weekend off, before heading to MSU Billings for.a Friday meet in Montana hosted by MSU Billings.
