SPEARFISH, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines Cross Country teams participated in the 2022 Gage McSpadden Memorial Invite at Black Hills State University on Saturday evening.

The female team finished in second, meanwhile the men finished in third.

The top performers on the women's side were
Clare Fischer,
Kat Tvrdy, and
Abbie Saline who recorded 3rd, 5th, and 7th place finishes with times of 19:56.45, 20:18.70 and 20:40.03. They were joined in the top-20 at number 16 and 17 by
Lillian Knudtson and
Margaret Thompson who posted 21:49.43 and 22:17.3.

For the men,
Tyler Captain was the lone top-10 finisher taking fourth with a time of 19:16.61. Fellow top-20 finishers
Zach Hentschel,
Brett Flerchinger and
Joran Lamoreaux finished with times of 19:56.41 (12th), 20:07.61 (16th) and (20th) 20:18.41.
