RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines soccer team lost their first game of the season after battling through the first half.
Throughout the night, the Hardrockers put pressure on, out shooting the Huskies 7-5 and having five corner kicks, compared to two for St. Cloud State.
In the end it wasn't enough as St. Cloud State scored at the 15-minute mark to take an early lead. After that,
Jesse Corneliusen was hit with a red card just before halftime and playing a man down throughout the remainder of the match, St. Cloud State was able to score two more times, sending the Hardrockers to a 3-0 defeat.
The two teams will square off again tomorrow night in St. Cloud at 6:00 PM.
