RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines Esports Team, in collaboration with the South Dakota Mines Office of Admissions, is sponsoring the second annual Grubby High School League (GHSL) for local area high school students. This tournament is free to enter, and the game selected is Rocket League.
The tournament will begin with group play and each game being supervised by the Hardrocker Rocket League team who will provide feedback after the match. Esports Director Mike Vander Heyden "It gives local students an introduction to collegiate esports, allows them to play a game they already love at a competitive level, and is a way for the Hardrockers to discover a wider variety of players who could one day represent South Dakota Mines," Vander Heyden said.
"This feedback can help grow the players' game and gives our team a way to see the game from a more tactical approach." said Student Esports Coordinator Harlie Ferguson.
Additionally, each team will have at least one match live-streamed on Twitch and cast by the Hardrocker esports broadcast team and all playoff games will also be streamed.
Interested local high school students can register online via our GHSL Discord or find more information at: https://discord.gg/xCwjrqjhvA
