BROOKINGS, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines Track and Field had some long distance runners compete in day 1 at the Indoor Classic hosted by South Dakota State and got some strong performances.

In the men's 5K,
Ryan Moen set a new school record, running a time of 14:49.98. He finished 17
th overall. Joining him in the race and on the top-10 all-time in that even were
Brett Flerchinger,
Tim Dunham, and
Tyler Captain.

For the women,
Allyson Heiden moved up to #2 all-time in the 5k, running it in 18:59.51.
Ryley Darnell,
Alyssa Franke, and
Margaret Thompson joined her with times that place in the top-10 in the event.
