PUEBLO, Colo. --- The South Dakota Mines women's golf team had to cram all 36 holes of competition into one long day of golf due to inclement weather as the Hardrockers took ninth place during the CSU Pueblo El Cheapo Classic golf tournament held at Walking Stick Golf Course Sunday in Pueblo, Colorado.
South Dakota Mines posted a team score of 687 to earn the ninth place slot. Colorado Mesa took home the team title with a two-round tally of 620, Western New Mexico was second with 635, UCCS secured third with 638 and Regis University was fourth with 640.
Chadron State's Alpine Hickstein took home the individual title with a 36-hole score of 15- while CSUP's Amy Sutheran tied with UCCS's Julia Baroth Colorado Mesa's Hannah More for second place all carding scores of 152.
Rianna Garland brought in the lowest score for the Hardrockers with a two-round total of 163 for a share of 23
rd place.
Annika Schooler tied for 37
th place with a 170,
Abby Magee shot a 176 for a share of 51
st place,
Jessalyn Shipp tied for 55
th place with a 178 and
Larissa Pawlowski posted a 184 to tie for 64
th place.
The Hardrocker women's golf team will next see action April 12-13 during the South Dakota Mines Invitational at Arrowhead in Rapid City.
