Hardrockers Announce 2021 Football Schedule

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- South Dakota Mines football head coach Charlie Flohr announced the 2021 Hardrocker football schedule Wednesday afternoon during a press conference from the Christensen Hall of Fame at the King Center in Rapid City, South Dakota.

The 'Rockers will play six home games this season all on Dunham Field at O'Harra Stadium.

The Hardrockers will open the year with a Thursday night game against Missouri S&T on September 2 in a 6 p.m. kickoff. It will mark the third-ever meeting between the two programs as South Dakota Mines last played the Miners in 2012 in Rolla, Missouri.

Another interesting home game will be against old Dakota Athletic Conference foes, the Mayville State Comets on Sept. 11 in a 5 p.m. meeting. These two teams have not seen each other since the NAIA glory days. Last time out, the 'Rockers thumped Mayville, 58-10, in 2010.

The Rocker Days homecoming game will be against Colorado State University Pueblo on Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. Other home games include: Fort Lewis College (Oct. 9 at 12 p.m.); Western Colorado University (Oct. 23 at 12 p.m.); and Colorado Mesa University (Nov. 13 at 12 p.m.).

"We are excited to have six home game this fall at Dunham Field at O'Harra Stadium. What a special venue we have here," Flohr said. "This season Hardrocker fans will get the opportunity to see some quality football teams come to South Dakota Mines."

Key rivalry games against Chadron State College and Black Hills State University will be played on the road. The CSC Battle For The Eagle-Rock game will take place on Saturday, September 8 in Nebraska; while the 136th Black Hills Brawl against the Yellow Jackets is slated for Saturday October 30.

The other games that the Hardrockers will be traveling to Golden, Colorado on October 16 to face Colorado School of Mines and also to Las Vegas Nevada to square off with New Mexico Highlands on November 6.
