The South Dakota Mines indoor track and field squad wrapped up the 2021 indoor season on a high note at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships this past weekend in Spearfish, SD. The men scored 24 points to finish seventh and the women scored 9 points to place ninth. The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs swept the men and womens crowns scoring 120 points and 122 points.
On day three, Junior
Erica Keeble continued her dominance of the RMAC in the pole vault winning the event for the third straight year. She jumped 3.71m for the win.
Kamryn Scully had a season best jump of 3.51 to place fifth. Taegan Wells crossed the line in eighth in the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 8.77. The men's 4x400 relay (Wells,
Isaac Orozco, Steven Namyst, and
Andrew Ferris) placed seventh with a time of 3:28.69.
"Congratulations to all who got to compete in the RMAC Championships this weekend," said head coach
Steve Johnson. "It was a very strong weekend for us and we are well positioned for a strong outdoor campaign."
