The South Dakota Mines indoor track team concluded their regular season this weekend at the Stinger Open at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD.
The men were led in the 5000 meter as they finished 1-4 place.
Joel Haas took first with a time of 15:23.53. Tim Dunham crossed the line in second in a time of 15:24.25.
Ryan Moen (15:55.41) and
Brett Flerchinger (16:10.18) came in third and fourth. In the pole vault,
Ty Nickerson came away with top honors with a jump of 4.70 m (15' 5"). Jonathon Hopkins finished second with a leap of 4.6m (15' 1") and
Jared Wilson was fifth with a jump of 4.45m (14' 7.25"). In the weight throw
Dakin Nolan finished fourth with a throw of 16.13m (52' 11").
On the women's side
Lindsay Butler finished third (19:33.19) and
Taylor Bright finished fifth (20:09.63) in the 5000 m.
Kamryn Scully crossed the line in fourth (9.87) in the 60 m Hurdles. Scully also placed fifth in the pole vault with a jump of 11' 1". In the throws events,
Jenna Sayler placed third in the weight throw (52' 10") and fifth in the shot put (41' 1.75").
Macy McClure finished in fourth in the weight throw (52' 0.5") and sixth in the shot put (40' 3.5").
Next up for the Hardrockers will be the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships which will be held at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD. The first events will kick off on Friday February 26 and continue on Saturday February 27.
