The Hardrocker esports Rocket League team finished their fall/winter Collegiate Starleague (CSL) season 6-4 and gave them a fourth place in the Midwest Conference 1 of the top division Star League. The CSL consisted of 174 teams competing in 11 conferences and tallied their wins against schools such as Kansas State, Maryville, and Washington University. The season consisted of weekly matchups in best of five series. The Rockers forced a head-to-head tiebreaker to Youngstown State University and unfortunately came up short.

Esports coordinator,
Mike Vander Heyden, was pleased with the strong start of the team. "The team has learned a great deal from last season and are more confident in their abilities." Vander Heyden spoke specifically about the team's defense in saying, "The goal is to improve on defense as several games went to a game 5, but timely mistakes on defense cost the matches. If we can tighten up our defense, we will be a threat moving forward."
Â
Captain Brandon "Lundo" Lund spoke at length about the challenges the team faced saying, "Our season has been slow, we had to keep up with online classes which forced some time restraints. I'm still impressed with our record! Lund went on to speak more about a new mindset with the team saying, "I think the results from this semester really shows how 'practice can make perfect'. As a team, we have the capability of doing better, so that's the goal I want to set for the team."
