RAPID CITY, S.D. --- South Dakota Mines track & field and cross country head coach
Steve Johnson is proud to announce the 2020-21 freshman recruits.
"We are very excited about this recruiting class," said Johnson. "Our new Hardrockers will add much needed depth in many areas and you'll even see a few of them leading the way for us."
The 'Rockers add two men and two women throwers to this year's squad. They are
Amanda Cooley (Meteetse, WY),
Elizabeth Tidball (Edgemont, SD), Joshua Norder (Mobridge, SD), and Kevin Osmanski (Kearney, NE).
In sprints and jumps, Coach Johnson added four men and three women to the team.
Tierney Robinson (Casper, WY), Elizabeth Carlisle (Rapid City, SD), and
Vera Rust (Blacksburg, VA) will join the Hardrocker women. While
Jonathon Hopkins (Taft, CA),
Taegen Wells (Rapid City, SD), Thomas Maasa (Hot Springs, SD)and
Caden Kokes (Fort Collins, CO) will join the men's team.
Johnson will bring in 10 distance runners that will compete in both track and field and cross country. The women's team added
Abigaile Saline (Highlands Ranch, CO), Lindsay Butler (Spokane, WA),
Ryley Darnell (Westminster, CO)
Hannah Denman (Cedar Rapids, IA), and Lillian Knudtson (Blair, NE). On the men's side, coach Johnson will bring in Zachariah Hentschel (Brandon, SD), Gerrit Livingston (Rosemont, MN),
Hunter Prather (Grand Junction, CO), and
Cory Stone (Irvine, CA).
"We look forward to having all of them on campus in a few months." said Johnson.
