Keeble Earns 2nd RMAC Field Athlete Of The Week Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- South Dakota School of Mines women's pole vaulter Erica Keeble has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Field Athlete Of The Week announced Wednesday by the league office in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Keeble a Computer Science major from Nashville, Tennessee, represented SD Mines very well at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite at the University of Nebraska Lincoln this past weekend. Keeble won the pole vault event in a jump off with one other individual. Both tied in regulation with jumps of 13 feet-0.75 inches. In the jump off, both vaulters had to jump another seven bars before Keeble was determine the winner.

"One of the most exciting things in track and field is the jump off," said Hardrocker track and field head coach Steve Johnson. That is the way it should be done. It was a tremendous competition with 75 percent of the field made up of (NCAA) Div. I vaulters."

Keeble is currently has the top height in the RMAC at 13-4.5 and is fourth in the nation. This is the second time this season that Keeble has earned RMAC Indoor Field honors.
