"This Grubby Games was a success!" declared Esports Director Micheal Vander Heyden. The 24-hour esports event had a 19-hour live stream, over 65 participants, and 154 unique viewers tuned in to watch the events. "We had to make some programming adjustments to the live stream as events went longer than anticipated, but it all worked out in the end, said Vander Heyden, "a huge thank you to everyone who participated and tuned in to watch the event." The event drew in $1000 in donations for the Children's Miracle Network Extra Life initiative, more than doubling the previous record placing us in the Top 10 for all of South Dakota. 100% of these funds will help ill and injured kids cared for at Monument Health.
"A huge thank you to everyone who donated to Extra Life, our stream team for casting and content, and with not knowing what to expect with a virtual convention, all those who helped with the logistics to make this a successful event, GG Hardrockers!"
