PUEBLO, Colo. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women's golf program kicked off its 2019-20 season Monday at the Sam Proal Farmer's Insurance Women's Golf Invitational held at Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colorado.
 
The Hardrocker women's team posted a team score of 348 and are currently in 12^th place after the first round of the two-day tournament. They are two strokes better than Adams State in 13^th with 350 strokes and 10 better than Black Hills State's 358 in 14^th.
 
Dixie State sits in first place with 300; Regis and Colorado Mesa are tied for second place, each with 305 strokes; Westminster College is fourth with 312; and Colorado Christian has 314 strokes for fifth place.
 
Individually, CCU's Faith Kilgore is the Day 1 leader, carding an 18-hole score of 70 --- which is two-under-par. Colorado Mesa's Brandy McClain is even with a 72; and Brooke Kramer of Chadron State and Madison Moss of Dixie State each posted scores of 73 to share third place.
 
After Day 1, the Hardrockers are paced by Emily Schimbeno who put up a score of 80 and is tied for 26^th place. She is followed by Nicole Schader, who carded an 85 and holds a share of 50^th place.
 
As for the rest of the SD Mines women's team: Jessalyn Shipp is 66^th after a round of 90; Larissa Pawlowski posted a 93 and is tied for 68^th place; and Alexandra Rauert finished the day with a 98 and is currently tied for 72^nd place.
 
The CSU-Pueblo concludes Tuesday at Pueblo Golf Course with a final 18-hole round.
