WAYNE, Neb. --- The South Dakota School of Mines men's cross country team took second place on Friday at the Wayne State Cross Country Classic in Wayne, Nebraska.
The Hardrockers tallied 62 points and came in runners-up to MSU-Moorhead, who finished 1-7 in the individual standings and collected a perfect score of 15. Wayne State was third with 95 points, Bellevue University (Neb.) finished fourth with 98 and Mount Marty College settled for fifth with 129 points.
After MSUM's Top 7 performance, SD Mines'
Andrew Ferris posted a time of 27 minutes 17.66 seconds to take eighth place. Sam Elliot was four spots back in 12
th place clocking a 27:41.70 and
Monty Christo, III crossed the finish line in 14
th place with a time of 27:52.87.
As for the rest of the running 'Rockers:
Grant Bauer secured 16
th place (28:03.38);
Brett Flerchinger finished in 18
th place (28:07.56);
Lukas Lehmpuhl took 21st (28:20.18); Mark was 37
th (30:14.20); and
Isaac Orozco came in 40
