'Rockers Earn 2 RMAC T&F 1st Team, 5 Second Team Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- South Dakota School of Mines earned two All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference First Team selections and three All-RMAC Second Team honors following the RMAC Indoor Championships last weekend in Alamosa, Colorado.
 
Hardrocker sophomore Erica Keeble and senior Jonathon Murray were All-RMAC First Team selections while Murray, sophomore Cody Allen, sophomore Andrew Ferris, senior Casey Skillingstad and junior Westley Siebdrath received All-RMAC Second Team accolades.
 
"We are very proud of the way our athletes competed at the RMAC Indoor Championships," said Hardrocker track and field head coach Steve Johnson. "It was a fantastic weekend and they all did a fantastic job representing South Dakota Mines and Hardrocker Athletics."
 
Keeble earned RMAC First Team honors after winning the women's pole vault and setting a new RMCA meet record clearing a height of 3.97 meters. Keeble, a Computer Science and Applied Mathematics major from De Pere, Wisconsin, will advance to the NCAA Div. II National Indoor Championships March 8-9 in Pittsburg, Kansas, where she is currently ranked third in the country with a season- and career- best height of 4.05.
 
Murray was named to the RMAC First Team after winning the men's 400-meter dash. He won the event in a time of 49.173 seconds. Murray had the third fastest time in the prelim race (49.64) and edged out Adams State's Augie Larranaga in the finals to take top honors.
 
Murray also earned All-RMAC Second Team honors in the men's 200 dash clocking a time of 22.36 in the finals to finish sixth place in the event. Murray is a Mechanical Engineering major from Yuma, Arizona.
 
Andrew Ferris, who finished fourth in the men's 800 run, was named to the All-RMAC Second Team. In the race, he clocked a time of 1:54.89 which was good enough for a provisional qualification to Nationals. He is currently ranked 23rd in the country with a conversion time of 1:51.75. Ferris is a Civil Engineering major from Lancaster, Ohio.
 
Allen, a Civil Engineering major from Cheyenne, Wyoming, secured All-RMAC second team honors after registering a mark of 16.00 meters for a fourth place finish in the men's shot put.
 
Siebdrath earned second team honors in the men's weight throw taking sixth place after a toss of 15.93 meters. He is a Civil and Environmental Engineering major from La Quinta, California.
 
Skillingstad finished the RMAC Indoor Championships with a sixth-place finish in the men's pole vault. He earned sixth after clearing a height of 4.57 meters. Skillingstad is a Civil and Environmental Engineering major from Yankton, South Dakota.
