RAPID CITY, S.D.--- The South Dakota School of Mines men's and women's indoor track & field teams travel to Spearfish, South Dakota this weekend for the last regular season meet before the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.
This Saturday the Hardrockers will participate in the Black Hills State Stinger Open.
Last weekend the 'Rockers were in Brookings, South Dakota and the campus of South Dakota State University. The two-day meet saw teams from all over the Midwest with 25 teams on the men's side and 24 teams on the women's side. The men finished the meet in 14
th place with 17.5 points, and the women finished in 17
th place with 5.5 points.
'Rocker to keep an eye on this weekend are:
- Annalie Janus in the 60-meter dash. Janus broke into the RMAC's top 25 after her performance last weekend at SDSU. Janus set her own season best with a time of 8.04.
- Erica Westerman moves up the rankings after she posted her top time of 2:15.96 in the 800 run last weekend at SDSU.
- Adeline Straatmeyer sits in 22nd for the 3,000 with a time of 10:23.26, a time that she set two weeks ago.
- The 4x400m Relay team posted their best time of the season last weekend with a mark of 4:14.88, this time puts them in 10th.
- In the Pole Vault, Erica Keeble continues to sit in second place after her recording a height of 3.95 meters two weeks ago.
- Macy McClure sits in 23rd for the shot put after recording her best distance of 11.04 two weeks ago. McClure also sits in 22nd for the weight throw with a distance of 12.46, another distance that she improved upon two weeks ago.
- Jeremy Gonzales bettered his time last weekend in the 60 dash by recording a 7.15, putting him in 19th place in the RMAC standings.
- Jonathon Murray is third for the 400 dash with a time of 48.71 which he set back in November and currently sits in 10th in the 200 dash with a time of 22.48 which he set two weeks ago.
- Kevin Ptak moves up to night ninth in the 400 after he recorded a time of 49.78 last weekend at SDSU.
- Korder Cropsey also moved up in the 400 when he set his new time of 50.63 last weekend, this time puts him in 20th place.
- Andrew Ferris set his season best in the 800 last weekend with a time of 1:53.78 also a school record; Ferris currently sits in seventh place.
- The 4x400 relay team moves into second in the RMAC after they put up a time of 3:18.17 last weekend at SDSU.
- Casey Skillingstad sits in 10th for the pole vault after setting his season high of 4.50 last weekend. - Cody Allen finds himself in fifth place in the shot put with a distance of 16.00; Allen recorded this distance in early December.
- Westley Siebdrath sits in fourth for the weight throw with a distance of 16.14, he set this distance in late January.
