RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women's volleyball team will be on the road this weekend for two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matches traveling to Denver, Colorado, to challenge Regis University on Friday followed by a Saturday match against Colorado Christian.
The Regis Rangers have won four of their last five matches. In those four wins, they didn't drop a single set. Regis enter Friday's match with a pair of top players in junior middle hitter Nikki Kennedy, who has 281 kills for the season as well as 355 points. She is complimented by sophomore outside hitter Caitlyn Burroway who has 276 kills this year and 297.5 points on the year.
Regis senior Gabby Haugh had a career-night from the service line last Friday when the Rangers challenged UCCS. She posted the second-most aces in a three-set match in Regis history (6). This set a new career-high for aces in a match for Haugh who also registered nine digs in the match.
On Saturday, the Lady 'Rockers travel to Lakewood, Colorado, to take on Colorado Christian (10-12), in a 5 p.m. contest. The Cougars head into the weekend in seventh place in the RMAC standings and have won three of their last five matches, including a 3-1 upset over No. 21 Colorado School of Mines last weekend.
The Cougars are led by sophomore outside hitter Jacey Johnson with 200 kills this season and 226.5 points, as well as Junior outside hitter Cali Bahnsen with 244 kills and 251 points this season.
Last weekend the Hardrockers traveled down to Alamosa, Colorado to play against Adams State University. Adams State was able to take the first set 25-23, in the second set the Hardrockers were able to pull back to even sets with a 25-17 set two win. From there it was all Adams State as they won the third set 25-12 and the fourth and final set 25-17.
Adams State's Rachael Ringler was named the RMAC Setter of the Week. Ringler was a floor general for the Grizzlies as she posted a pair of double-doubles. In Friday's 3-1 win vs. South Dakota Mines, she tallied 46 assists on offense and added 14 digs to go along with two block assists on the defensive end.
On Saturday the Hardrockers played against Fort Lewis, the Hardrockers dropped the first two sets 25-22 and 25-12, but in the third set the Hardrockers were able to outscore Fort Lewis and take the set 25-21. In the fourth set, Fort Lewis was able to close out the match with a 25-17 win. The Hardrockers move to 4-18 on the year, with six matches remaining in the season.

Dana Thomson continues to have an outstanding season. She currently leads the RMAC with 340 kills, averaging 4.3 a set. That ranks her 15th in the nation in total kills and points per set (4.68) and is 12
th in kills per set as well as rated 11
th for attacks per set at 12.33.
Senior
Anna Breidt is also playing solid volleyball with 173 kills heading into the weekend with a .178 hitting percentage. Freshman
Shyann Bastian has taken the lion's share of setting responsibilities and has tallied 514 on the season and is averaging 6.95 per set.
Sophomore
Tana Dahlberg has worked herself in the libero position and posting solid numbers leading the team with 347 digs total, averaging 4.45 per set and junior
Hannah Stevenson is becoming quite the force at the net leading the team with 53 total blocks on the season.
