Box Score DICKINSON, N.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines women's volleyball team fell to Dickinson State, 3-1, Tuesday night during a non-conference match on the road in Dickinson, N.D., in a non-conference bout.
The Blue Hawks defeated the Lady Hardrockers, 25-20, 21-25, 27-25, 25-20. SD Mines finished the match with 40 kills and was 112-127 on the attack and totaled 35 assists, 61 digs and five blocks. Dickinson State notched 55 kills and was 132-150 on the attack and tallied 47 assists, 65 digs and came away with 13 blocks.
"This was one of those matches that we got the outcome we deserved. They out worked us in the beginning. We eventually solved that for the most part, but not soon enough," said Hardrocker volleyball head coach
Doug Tabbert. "The real issue, however, was our lack of composure. We lacked it in numerous phases. There were 15 service errors --- as a good example. Not sure why that was such an issue for us but it undoubtedly was. "

Anna Breidt contributed with eight and freshman Kenzie Devries had five. Newton went 20-23 on the attack, Hazard was 23-26 on the attack and Breidt was 19-22. Sophomore
Elizabeth Jensen recorded 18 assists and freshman
Allie Boggs added 14. Breidt also tacked on 13 digs and freshman Makinze Maiden came up with 13.
"On the positive side, we are getting more balanced production offensively, so hopefully we can continue that trend," Tabbert added.
The Hardrockers fall to 1-13 on the season and will get back into Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play this weekend taking on Colorado Christian on Friday and Colorado School of Mines Saturday.
