Lohrenz is a sophomore transfer who played the last two seasons at Northwest College in Powell, Wyo. She is a 5-foot-11-inch forward originally from Littleton, Colo. As a NC Trapper, Lohrenz was named to the 2015-16 NJCAA Region IX Academic All-Region Team. During Lohrenz’s high school career at Thunder Ridge High School, she was a three-time First Team Academic All-State selection and helped her squad to the CHSAA 5A Girls’ Basketball State Championship game in 2015.

“Jessica Lohrenz is a wonderful addition to the Hardrocker women’s basketball program --- she’s a big-time student and great person,” Larsen said. “Jessica has played for a really established high school program as well as a great coach and program at Northwest College. Jessica is a tough young lady that will bring needed depth to our forward and post rotation. She is an athletic defender, she rebounds outside of her area, and is capable of scoring in multiple ways.”

Lohrenz plans to pursue a degree in Geological Engineering during her time at SD Mines.

“I am proud to be a part of a competitive program that pushes me to progress both athletically and academically,” Lohrenz said.
