Women's Basketball Back Home for Rangers, Roadrunners

RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Women's Basketball returns home this weekend to face Regis on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and MSU Denver on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Series History

Regis is 16-0 all-time against South Dakota Mines dating back to 2015. At the King Center, the Rangers hold a 7-0 record against the Hardrockers.

MSU Denver holds a 13-7 record against South Dakota Mines since 2016. The Hardrockers have won three of the last five matchups, including an 82-68 victory back on Jan. 8. In that win, Savea Mansfield had 28 points and Morning Grace Spotted Bear put up 21 points and 11 rebounds.

About the Rangers

Regis is 1-16 overall and 1-13 in the RMAC this season. Their lone win of the season came last weekend against Westminster, an 80-52 victory. Before that, they lost 16 straight games to start the season.

Kate Gallery leads the team and is seventh in the RMAC with 17.4 points per game. Jessica Bollwahn's 9.5 rebounds per game is first on the team and second in the conference. She is also averaging 10.9 points per game.

About the Roadrunners

MSU Denver comes into the weekend 10-12 overall and 8-6 in the RMAC. Last weekend, they split with #4 Colorado Mesa and Western Colorado, falling to the Mavericks and defeating the Mountaineers. The Roadrunners have won four of their last five games.

Mikylah Espinosa leads the Roadrunners with 17.2 points per game on 45.3% field goal shooting. In this matchup on Jan. 8, she put up 18 points, five steals and three assists. The MSU Denver offense is second in the RMAC with 71.6 points per game this season.

About the Hardrockers

South Dakota Mines snapped a two-game losing skid last Saturday, defeating Colorado Christian 67-58 on the road. Mansfield and Addison Miranda both had 18 points in that game. Before the win, the Hardrockers lost two straight games at Black Hills State and UCCS. At the King Center this season, the Rockers hold a 4-6 record and 3-3 record in RMAC play.

Mansfield leads the Hardrockers with 16.9 points per game on 51% field goal shooting, the fifth-best mark in the RMAC. Spotted Bear is averaging 12.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game for the Hardrockers. South Dakota Mines' team 30.8% three-point percentage ranks fifth in the RMAC, while their 0.9 assist/turnover ratio ranks fourth.
