South Dakota Mines is 7-9-1 all-time against Colorado Christian dating back to 2012. The Cougars are currently on a seven-match winning streak against the Hardrockers. The last South Dakota Mines win came on Mar. 19, 2021, where they won 2-1 in Lakewood, Colorado.
About the Cougars
Colorado Christian went 4-6-8 last season with a 2-5-3 mark in the RMAC. Their last win came on Oct. 27 at South Dakota Mines. In the RMAC Preseason Poll, Colorado Christian was picked to finish in ninth place after their 2024 season.
Mac Weaver was recognized as a Preseason All-RMAC honoree as a defender. Weaver led the team as the only player to start in all 18 matches, while also recording 1,557 minutes played last season. The Cougars are bringing back their top goal scorer from last season in Tiago Gomes, who put in five goals in 2024.
About the Hardrockers
South Dakota Mines has entered a new era after Teren Schuster was announced as the new head coach on Mar. 27. Schuster joins the Hardrockers after a three-year stint at Briar Cliff. He earned GPAC Coach of the Year honors and guided Briar Cliff to their second-ever NAIA National Tournament berth in his tenure.
The Hardrockers added 15 new players in the offseason. They return both top goal scorers last season in
Parker Yocom and
Jayden Roque. On the defensive front,
Jacob Miklas, who led the team with 1,332 minutes played in 2024, is back for his senior season. South Dakota Mines added a new goalkeeper in
Abdo Salem Abdullah, a sophomore transfer from Gannon.
While this matchup is between two RMAC institutions, this match is a non-conference match between both sides.
