RAPID CITY, SD – South Dakota Mines Volleyball begins RMAC play this weekend at Western Colorado on Friday and at Fort Lewis on Saturday.
Series History
Against Western Colorado, the Hardrockers are 4-9 all-time dating back to 2014. The Mountaineers won last season's matchup 3-1in Gunnison, Colorado. Against Fort Lewis, South Dakota Mines is 5-6 but the Hardrockers have won three of the last four matchups. They topped Fort Lewis 3-1 in their match last season.
About the Mountaineers
Western Colorado is 1-7 following their two non-conference tournaments. After losing their first five matches of the season, they defeated Millersville 3-0 on Sept. 12. Western Colorado went 12-16 overall and 7-7 in the RMAC last season. They were picked to finish in 12
th place in the RMAC Preseason Poll. Olive Rolseth leads the Mountaineers offense with 3.00 kills per set, while Galatia Andrew has 3.28 digs per set on the defense.
About the Skyhawks
Through seven matches, Fort Lewis is 6-1 overall this season and goes into the weekend on a five-match winning streak. They went 3-1 at the WNMU Invite, followed by a 3-0 weekend at the Lubbock Christian Tournament. The Skyhawks went 10-16 overall and 6-8 in the RMAC in 2024. They were picked 11
th in the RMAC Preseason Poll. Jordan DeJesus paces the Skyhawk offense with her 2.88 kills per set, while Emery Pomroy has 5.26 digs per set.
About the Hardrockers
South Dakota Mines goes into the weekend with an 0-8 overall record. They faced tough competition at the Oredigger Volleyball Classic and last weekend at the Rosella Meier UNK Fall Classic. Last season, the Hardrockers broke records with an 18-9 overall record and 11-3 RMAC record. They were picked fourth in the RMAC Preseason Poll this season.
Morgan Daugherty leads the team with her 3.03 kills per set so far this season. She was named to the Rosella Meier UNK Fall Classic All-Tournament Team last weekend. Freshman
Lexi Glendenning is second with 3.00 kills per set.
Hannah Benes is first on the team with her 4.27 digs per set.
Hannah Joseph has 7.83 assists per set to lead the setters this season.

South Dakota Mines will open their home slate of the season with a four-match homestand, first with CSU Pueblo on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m., followed by Colorado Christian on Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. They will host Black Hills State on Sept. 30 and Chadron State on Oct. 3.
