RAPID CITY, SD – South Dakota Mines Soccer is set to begin the 2025 season against Mount Marty in a neutral site contest in Mitchell, South Dakota.

About the Lancers

Mount Marty is coming off a 3-3 draw in an exhibition match against Nebraska Wesleyan. They will open their regular season on Saturday against York at Crane Youngworth Stadium.

Mount Marty went 4-11-1 last season with a 1-9 record in the GPAC. They return their top goal scorer from last season in Zach Hebda. He led the team with five goals in all 16 matches played.

About the Hardrockers

South Dakota Mines has entered a new era after Teren Schuster was announced as the new head coach on Mar. 27. Schuster joins the Hardrockers after a three-year stint at Briar Cliff. He earned GPAC Coach of the Year honors and guided Briar Cliff to their second-ever NAIA National Tournament berth in his tenure.

The Hardrockers added 15 new players in the offseason. They return both top goal scorers last season in Parker Yocom and Jayden Roque. On the defensive front, Jacob Miklas, who led the team with 1,332 minutes played in 2024, is back for his senior season. South Dakota Mines added a new goalkeeper in Abdo Salem Abdullah, a sophomore transfer from Gannon.

This contest is an exhibition for both sides. It will take place at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex at Dakota Wesleyan.

What's Next

After a non-conference matchup at Colorado Christian on Sept. 4, the Hardrockers will play their first game on Sept. 6 against Jamestown. That match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Dakota Fields.
