RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Mines women's basketball team had its senior day on Saturday afternoon.
The Hardrockers continued their strong play of late as they won their second straight to close out the season and their eighth RMAC victory, picking up the
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hardrockers got off to a great start on senior day. The game opened with fifth-year senior
Sydnee Durtsche, who hasn't seen court time in over a year, getting a layup.
The remainder of the first quarter was strong for the 'Rockers, who took a 23-12 lead into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, the Hardrockers continued to play strongly.
Piper hit her 300th career three-pointer early in the quarter, while
Miquedah Taliman and
Savea Mansfield would help push SDM to a double-digit lead.
Going into the locker rooms, the Hardrockers led 36-26.
South Dakota Mines was rolling to begin the third, taking a 16-point lead after Taliman hit a three with just over six minutes to play in the quarter as the 'Rockers were up 47-31.
Going into the fourth, the Hardrockers maintained a big lead, 57-41.
Fort Lewis would chip away a bit in the fourth, cutting the deficit to under 10, but the Hardrockers maintained their strong play and picked up the 71-59 victory.

Morning Grace Spotted Bear added 15 points, and
Piper Bauer chipped in 12…Spotted Bear posted another double-double as she grabbed 14 rebounds…
Samantha Darnell had eight rebounds and four assists.
