Women's Basketball Has Home Games Thursday & Saturday, Looking to Improve Playoff Position

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Looking to continue to improve their RMAC standing and playoff position, the Hardrocker Women's Basketball team hosts UCCS and Colorado Christian on Thursday and Saturday.

The Hardrockers do a good job, offensively and defensively, from behind the three-point line, as they are fifth in percentage made (31.3%) and sixth in percentage defended against (29%) in conference play.
 
South Dakota Mines makes 6.3 three-pointers per game in conference play, sixth in the conference in RMAC play.
 
CRASHING THE GLASS
South Dakota Mines leads the RMAC in offensive rebounding in conference play, averaging 12.7 per game.
 
The Hardrockers are fifth in overall rebounding, outrebounding their opponents with a +5.2 margin.
 
MULTI-FACETED MORNING GRACE
Morning Grace Spotted Bear is one of the more well-rounded players in the league, averaging 15.8 points per game and 8.9 rebounds per game in RMAC play. Those numbers are top-10 in the league.
 
Spotted Bear is shooting 45.2% from the floor and is also in the top 10 in the conference.
 
It is more of the same on the defensive end, as Spotted Bear is 10th in blocks and ninth in steals.
 
SAVEA SCORES
Savea Mansfield has been a potent scorer this season, averaging 14.4 points per game in conference play.
 
Mansfield has the seventh-best shooting percentage in the league, hitting 45.5% of her shots from the field.
 
Recently, she has stepped up, scoring 12 or more points in eight straight games.
 
SCOUTING UCCS
The Mountain Lions have had a strong start to the year, sitting at 11-8 overall and 7-5 in the RMAC.
 
The defense has been a strong suit for them as a team, as they allow opponents to shoot just 37.5%, the third-best in the RMAC.
 
They also protect the paint, averaging 4.1 blocks per game, second in the RMAC.
 
UCCS has a turnover margin of +2.32, which is third in the RMAC.
 
Maison White and Amyah Moore Allen are their top players.
