Hardrockers Take Down Nebraska Wesleyan, Pick up First Win of 2025-26 Season

RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Women's Basketball defeated Nebraska Wesleyan 57-45 on Wednesday night at the King Center.

Both teams scored 13 points in the first quarter. Addison Miranda drained her first three-pointer of the night with 7:48 left in the quarter. With a 5-6 deficit, Emma Martin hit a three-pointer and Miranda hit another later. The Prairie Wolves scored four straight points to end the quarter.

The Hardrockers outscored Nebraska Wesleyan 14-7 in the second. Miranda started the scoring with a three-pointer. The Hardrockers went on a nine-point run at the end of the quarter, guided by a Lauren Herman three ball. They led 27-20 going into halftime.

Nebraska Wesleyan went down by six points to end the third quarter. Miranda hit two three-pointers in the quarter to continue her historic game. Her three-pointer at the end of the quarter made the score 39-33.

In the fourth quarter, South Dakota Mines outscored the Prairie Wolves 18-12 to win 57-45. With a four-point lead, the Hardrockers went on a 13-3 run to go up by 14 points. Miranda hit her seventh three-pointer of the night with 40 seconds left. The Hardrockers won 57-45 to earn their first win of the season.

Miranda was 7-for-15 from three-point range. That mark is the most three-pointer made by an RMAC player so far this season. She totaled 23 points, four rebounds and five steals. Savea Mansfield recorded 12 points and eight rebounds. Morning Grace Spotted Bear put up 10 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

As a team, the Hardrockers shot 32.3% from the field and 32.1% from three-point range. They had 20 points off turnovers and 18 points in the paint. They outrebounded Nebraska Wesleyan 34-24 and held them to just 15 field goals made.

What's Next

The Hardrockers will go on the road this weekend to face Sioux Falls on Nov. 21 at 12 p.m. CT. They will face Northern State at Sioux Falls on Saturday at 1 p.m. South Dakota Mines returns home on Nov. 29 to play Minot State.
