RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Women's Basketball is set to play at the USF Classic this weekend against Sioux Falls and Northern State.

Series History

Sioux Falls is 34-30 all-time against South Dakota Mines. However, Sioux Falls has won the last 10 matchups, including a 78-47 win at the King Center last season.

Against Northern State, South Dakota Mines is 1-16 all-time. Their lone win came on Nov. 19, 2011, at the King Center. Northern State defeated South Dakota Mines 82-68 last year.

About the Cougars

Through three contests, Sioux Falls is 1-2 with their lone win on Tuesday against Nebraska Kearney. They fell to Northwest Missouri State and #9 Fort Hays State last weekend. Sioux Falls finished the 2024-25 season 17-14 overall.

Anna Vaaler leads the Cougars with 24.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game this season. She put up 33 points and 10 rebounds against the #9 Tigers. Sioux Falls was picked tied for second in the NSIC Preseason Poll.

About the Wolves

Northern State is 1-1 through two games so far this season. They lost to #7 Pittsburg State but rebounded with a 65-60 win at Nebraska Kearney last weekend. Last season, the Wolves went 19-11 and 15-7 in the NSIC.

Izzy Moore is averaging 17.5 points per game this season for the Wolves. Telia Graham has eight rebounds per game off the bench. Northern State was picked 10^th in the NSIC Preseason Poll this season.

About the Hardrockers

South Dakota Mines picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday against Nebraska Wesleyan. In their 57-45 win, Addison Miranda recorded 23 points. She went 7-for-15 from three-point range, the most three-pointer made by an RMAC player this season. Morning Grace Spotted Bear totaled 10 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

Spotted Bear leads the Hardrockers with 15.3 and 6.7 rebounds per game. Miranda has a 42.4 clip from three-point range with 14.7 points per game. Savea Mansfield is averaging 12.3 and 5.7 rebounds per game. South Dakota Mines was picked 11^th in the RMAC Preseason Poll.
