COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Lane Thomas has been named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week after he snagged two interceptions at Black Hills State on Saturday.
Lane Thomas earned his first career Player of the Week award and the first Hardrockers Defensive Player of the Week award since Kyante Christian on Sep. 20, 2021.
At Black Hills State on Saturday, Thomas recorded his first interception of the season. In the next drive for the Yellow Jackets, Thomas picked off Black Hills State again.
Thomas totaled two interceptions and six tackles for the Hardrockers. He helped the defense to five turnovers against the Yellow Jackets.
For the Hardrockers, it is their first RMAC Player of the Week since
Connor Taylor won special team honors on Nov. 4, 2024.
What's Next
South Dakota Mines is back in action on Oct. 11 against (RV) Colorado School of Mines at O'Harra Stadium. That game starts a three-game homestand as the Hardrockers host #7 Western Colorado on Oct. 18 and Chadron State on Nov. 1.
